How to Set Up WhatsApp on ProfiChat

 

Integrating WhatsApp into ProfiChat allows you to manage customer messages directly from your ProfiChat inbox. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set it up using Meta’s WhatsApp Business API.


🔧 Step 1: Create a WhatsApp Business App on Meta

  1. Go to Meta for Developers.

  2. Click My Apps > Create App.

  3. Choose Business as the app type.

  4. Set a name (e.g., “ProfiChat WhatsApp”), and proceed.

  5. After the app is created, in the left menu go to Add Product and choose WhatsApp.


🧩 Step 2: Set Up WhatsApp API

  1. Register your WhatsApp account if it's not registered yet.
  2. Go to Meta for Developers
  3. Go to WhatsApp > Getting Started.

  4. Create or select your Meta Business Account.

  5. Set up a WhatsApp Business Number (or use a test number).

  6. go to WhatsApp > API Setup section and copy the following values: 
    * Phone number ID.
    * WhatsApp Business Account ID


  7. Generate a Temporary Token for testing, or continue to the next step for a permanent token.


🔐 Step 3: Generate a Permanent Access Token

  1. Go to Meta Business manager 
  2. In the left menu, go to Users > System users.

  3. Add a system "admin" and click on Generate token button


  4. Copy and securely store your Permanent Token.

    • This token is required for ProfiChat connection.

📌 Tip: Permanent tokens do not expire unless revoked. You must enable System User under Business Settings in Meta Business Manager.


⚙️ Step 4: Connect WhatsApp to ProfiChat

  1. Log into your ProfiChat dashboard.

  2. Go to Settings > Channels > WhatsApp.

  3. Click Add WhatsApp Channel.

  4. Enter the following details:

    • Permanent Access Token (from Step 3)

    • Phone Number ID (found in WhatsApp > Getting Started)

    • Business Account ID (also shown in WhatsApp > Getting Started)

  5. Click Save & Connect.

✅ ProfiChat will now connect to your WhatsApp Business number. Messages from customers will appear in your unified inbox.
